COSTA MESA, Calif., December 9, 2003 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the world’s leading supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), announced today it is augmenting its leading position in the channel by delivering additional programs and tools to its partners. Through its new “Sell Emulex HBAs and Win” promotion, Emulex emphasizes the value of its midrange LP1050, LP982 and LP952 Fibre Channel HBAs, which are ideal SAN connectivity solutions for Microsoft Windows environments.
In its first fiscal quarter ended September 2003, Emulex’s channel revenue grew 68 percent from the previous year to 43 percent of net revenues. Emulex’s midrange product families, including the LP1050, LP982 and LP952 continue to gain traction, and net revenues in the sector have nearly doubled on a year-over-year basis. Additionally, Emulex has been awarded ‘Best Supplier of the Year’ from all three of its distribution partners, including Info X, Tech Data and TidalWire.
Emulex’s midrange Fibre Channel HBAs offer a robust and scalable connectivity solution for small- and medium-sized SAN installations within a variety of operating environments, including Linux, NetWare and Windows. In addition, the Emulex LP1050 HBA was recently qualified by EMC to provide connectivity for its Symmetrix and CLARiiON storage systems, and the LP982 HBA is also qualified by several of Emulex’s OEM customers, including Dell, EMC and Hitachi Data Systems, for high quality SAN connectivity. Customers utilizing Emulex HBAs may also leverage its HBA management suite, HBAnyware, which significantly reduces management complexity.

As part of Emulex’s channel promotion, resellers earn points for purchasing Emulex HBAs, and may score additional points for the LP982. Points may be redeemed for prizes and chances to enter a grand prize drawing for an all expenses paid trip to southern California and tickets to the 2004 Toshiba Senior Classic golf tournament.
