Eden Prairie, MN - June 17, 2003 -- I-TECH, a technology
leader in high-speed data storage testing solutions, announced today the release
of the 4001 SANmark™ Test Suite. This test suite has been recognized under
the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) SANmark Qualified Program.
The 4001 Test Suite tests the discovery and management support requirements for
end devices (such as HBAs and tape drives) that support FC-MI. These tests
verify that end devices are discoverable and manageable by a wide range of
storage area network (SAN) management applications.
The release of the 4001 Test Suite and its related SANmark Conformance
Document (SCD) is the culmination of three Small Group Test Periods (SGTPs) at
which Fibre Channel end devices were tested to determine test suite compliance
with the SCD. The SGTP process is a collaborative effort designed by the SANmark
Qualified Program to ensure the highest quality of Fibre Channel compliance.
Bill Martin, FCIA SANmark Technical Leader from Brocade, was instrumental in
the completion
of the SGTP process for this test suite.
"The recognition of SCD-4001 through the cooperation of industry
vendors advances the goal of the SANmark Qualified Program for supporting
heterogeneous
interoperability. As SAN management applications become more important in the
overall success of a SAN, so does the industry's ability to produce devices that
respond properly to those devices. The SCD-4001 test suite represents yet
another
step toward the end-user quest for seamless deployment," Martin commented.
In addition to software for the SCD-2000 and SCD-3000 series, the I-TECH Tool
Kit for SANmark Qualification now includes software for the 4001 Test Suites.
The Tool Kit consists of an IFC-4 development system and software for the 2000,
3000, and 4000 Test Suites. It is ideal for script development where automated
analysis isn't desirable.
The Advantage Automation product family, which includes the 2000
and 3000 Test Suites, sets an industry standard in providing automated trace
analysis
for SANmark Qualification. Three system configurations are available.
