TUSTIN, Calif., May 7, 2003, - MTI Technology Corp. The FCIA is an international organization committed to advancing Fibre Channel technology solutions and interoperability.

With his appointment by the existing board to fill a recently vacated seat, Ramos becomes the second MTI staff member currently serving on an FCIA board; Axel Luedecke, MTI's European product marketing manager, is vice president of the board of directors for FCIA Europe. MTI has been a principal member of FCIA since the organization was formed in 1999.

Ramos, an 11-year veteran of MTI, began working with Fibre Channel technology in 1994 and has been MTI's primary FCIA representative in the U.S. for the past two years. He is also MTI's primary representative to the T11 technical committee on Fibre Channel standards, the SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association), and the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force).
